Lately I have been paying a whole lot of badminton. I have learned very much about the sport. A nice sport in my opinion in theterms of health. If you play it in the correct way you can see changes in stamina and energy in your body in just a month which these gyms take years. The leg muscles especially are build.
First thing to know in badminton is your dominant foot. If your's is right you have to stand putting whole pressure of your body on that foot while the other a few inches back and bend you body towards the front standing in an attentive position to take the pick. Allways stand in the middle of the court to get the pick in front and back. While the other person is serving you have to stand at back because serve is taken from the front end and the oponent might send the shuutle at the back of the court to sore points. Take leaps on the court to pick distant shots
Allways look for blank spaces and make the oponent run from one end to another for scoring points. There are two grips of holding racket front hand grip. Used to pick shots above your head or on your body and to give smashes. The back hand grip is generally used to pick drop shots, serves and smashes
The correct way to diliver a smash is to check wether the shuttle is directly overhead then jump in air and in mid air swing your hand from back to the front with full power and then when the racket is in line of shutlle completely rotate your wrist toward the shuttle making it go donwards at high speed and hence making more difficult for the oponent to pick it.
The body shot is rather difficult to pick but with practice you can bassically it is a shot coming right at your body. There are two ways in which you can pick a body shot first is holding the racket in front grip and then making its head right in front of your boday and moving yourself to pick the shot, this is a harder approach and comes with practice the other is quite simple. First you nedd to get away from the line of shuttle then hold your racket in front hand grip and then picking the shuttle like playing a yorker in cricket.
That's all from my side hope you learnt something and have a great match. THANKS!!
